Understanding ISPOR’s Value Flower |
This course introduces ISPOR’s Value Flower, a framework developed to expand how value is considered in healthcare decision making beyond traditional cost-effectiveness approaches. Learners will explore the rationale behind the framework and examine each of the twelve value elements that contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of value.
Through interactive activities and a short, applied scenario, participants will practice identifying relevant value elements and learn how the Value Flower can be used to support more transparent, patient-centered assessments. By the end of the course, learners will have a practical understanding of how the framework can strengthen the evaluation and communication of value across healthcare settings.
After the completion of this course participants will be able to:
- Describe the purpose and development of ISPOR’s Value Flower framework.
- Identify the twelve value elements included in the Value Flower.
- Explain how the Value Flower expands value assessment beyond traditional cost-effectiveness measures.
- Apply the Value Flower framework to identify relevant value elements within a real-world healthcare scenario.
- Discuss how the framework supports transparent, patient-centered decision making and value communication.
