Course Information

  • Patient-reported outcomes (PRO)

One of 5 microcourses in the What is HEOR? series, this course provides a basic understanding of how information may be collected directly from patients, who are the central focus of healthcare, about their perceptions about disease and treatment results. By collecting information on patient reported outcomes (PRO), we can better evaluate the real-world impacts of medicine.

In this microcourse, you will learn more about the purpose of PRO instruments, how they are developed, and challenges in their use.

After the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

    • Define and explain patient-reported outcomes (PROs).
    • Describe the purpose of PRO instruments.
    • List the various types of PRO instruments.
    • Understand how PRO instruments are developed.
    • Identify the challenges involved in developing a new PRO instrument.

The access period once enrolled into the course is 30 days from the date of purchase. After this duration, you will need to re-enroll if you wish to re-enter the course.

Time to complete – approximately 1 hour
