Patients have an important say in the measures of health-related quality of life. The feedback received from patients through patient-reported outcomes is critical in measuring health-related quality of life.

At the completion of this online learning module, you will be able to:

• Understand the HRQOL concept as an important patient-reported outcome
• Define common HRQOL domains
• Identify types of HRQOL instruments and their advantages and disadvantages
• Understand the psychometric properties that should be evaluated before using a HRQOL instrument
• Understand how HRQOL data can be used to inform clinical decision making
