Course Information

  • Diagnostics are increasingly being recognized as key tools for public policies. Presented by the ISPOR Special Interest Group (SIG) on Medical Devices and Diagnostics Technologies, this course is a comprehensive introduction to the key relevant concepts of health economic evaluations of diagnostic technologies (HEEDx), such as definitions, diagnostic performance, and usual diagnostic-based health interventions.

    At the completion of this online learning module, you will be able to: 

    *Describe the types of diagnostic technologies and how are used for health interventions (diagnosis, prognosis, screening & monitoring)
    *Describe key concepts of diagnostic accuracy (sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values & ROC curves)
    *Understand the principles of modelling diagnostic-based interventions
