    Introduction to HEOR Methods and Tools for Medical Devices

    This course introduces key Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) methods and tools used to support market access for medical devices. Learners will explore the purpose of HEOR in demonstrating value, compare common methods such as economic evaluations, budget impact models, and real-world evidence approaches, and examine how these tools are applied across the medical device product lifecycle. Real-world industry examples are included to illustrate practical application and decision-making in different market access contexts..

    After the completion of this course participants will be able to:

    • Discuss the purpose of HEOR methods and tools for medical devices.
    • Describe HEOR methods and tools that can be used in medical device market access and compare the methods typically used.
    • Discuss the methods and tools used along the product lifecycle and provide examples.

Belinda A. Mohr is an HEOR Consultant on the Corporate HEOR team at Medtronic and serves as the Chair of the ISPOR Medical Devices and Diagnostics Special Interest Group. Prior to joining Medtronic, she held positions at Philips and W. L. Gore & Associates focused on HEOR and real-world data and evidence initiatives.
