Performance Outcomes (PerfOs)
|
Performance outcome (PerfO) assessments play an important role in evaluating patient functioning and treatment effects in clinical research. This introductory course provides an overview of PerfO assessments, including their purpose, key characteristics, and applications in clinical research. Learners will explore when and why PerfO assessments are used, how they relate to outcomes that matter to patients, and key considerations for selecting, modifying, or developing fit-for-purpose assessments. Through practical examples and interactive scenarios, learners will gain foundational knowledge of how PerfO assessments are designed, evaluated, and implemented to support meaningful measurement of patient functioning in clinical research.
After the completion of this course participants will be able to:
- Define performance outcome (PerfO) assessments and describe their role in clinical research.
- Identify situations in which PerfO assessments may be appropriate for measuring patient functioning.
- Explain the importance of aligning PerfO assessments with outcomes that are meaningful to patients.
- Describe key considerations for selecting, modifying, or developing a fit-for-purpose PerfO assessment.
- Recognize important considerations for designing, pilot testing, and evaluating PerfO assessments, including feasibility, safety, validity, and reliability.
The access period once enrolled into the course is 30 days from the date of purchase. After this duration, you will need to re-enroll if you wish to re-enter the course. Time to complete – approximately 1 hour
