The climate crisis poses an urgent threat, with healthcare systems like the NHS contributing significantly to carbon emissions. As healthcare decision-making evolves to address environmental challenges, integrating sustainability into health technology assessment (HTA) is critical.
This course introduces the principles of sustainable healthcare and methods for assessing environmental impacts of health technologies.
After the completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe sustainability principles and the NHS’s net-zero goals.
- Use techniques to measure and evaluate environmental impacts alongside traditional health outcomes.
